Development

The development of electrotechnical circuits and terminals has been one of the key competencies of SCHUMACHER Elektromechanik GmbH since the company was founded: from simple analogue regulation and controls to complex and digital circuits for medical electronics.

Customer-specific solutions

Regardless of whether standard applications or very specific individual customer requirements: With our decades of experience in the areas of electromechanical production and electrotechnical hardware and software development, we are able to work closely with our customers to solve a wide variety of requirements, even of the highest complexity and implement them in customer-specific projects and productions.

Development from a single source

With a team of hardware and software specialists as well as in-house mechanical developers, we design an innovative and always transparent development process. From advice, circuit design and layout creation over launching and testing, all the way up to the TÜV inspection.

Along the way, we use suitable layout programmes (Altium Protel) and state-of-the-art measurement methods. We also refine existing systems or develop new replacement systems.

Our special field is the development of power supplies and controls for sources of light of any kind. In particular lasers in a middle voltage range (from around 1 to 20 kilovolts) can be operated and fully controlled by our terminals We are not only producers of complete terminals and individual parts such as plates and cables, but also specialists for the development of the suitable electronic components. Particular attention is paid to a production-oriented design, which can then be incorporated into our in-house production.

Next to power supplies and controls, we also cover the development of the entire range of control technology. Our in-house developed boards allow the terminals to be operated in compliance with the highest security standards.

The SCHUMACHER Elektromechanik Competency Plus

  • Diagram draft and layout production with use of the Altium Designer
  • Test and TÜV inspection
  • Using Altium Designer
  • Preparation of cable diagrams

Customised solutions

Mechanics

When developing electromechanical components, we use key information from our customers to develop a design that is both technically and economically sustainable. With the use of the 3D construction software (SolidWorks) we can already show in the development phase what the finished terminal will look like, how it will fit into the overall design of the system and how it will meet the cost requirements of the customer.

The SCHUMACHER Elektromechanik Competency Plus

  • Cost-optimized design possible
  • Complete mechanics development
  • SolidWorks 3D product preview

Software

Software’s role in electrical engineering is becoming increasingly important. Together with our customers, we develop a hardware-related solution and can also realise complex software requirements. This is how we deliver the most modern software solutions for a wide variety of customer requirements.

One focus is hereby on GUI (Graphical User Interface), based on QML, for example to develop touchscreen controls in customer-specific designs. In addition to that, “Yocto Linux” makes it possible for appropriately customized system software to be used on our terminals, preparing for “embedded systems”. Our software developers are also working with Microchip controllers and CAN bus systems, which can be used to control various subsystems with a single line and save some of the wiring steps.

Thanks to modern version management, all development steps are transparent even with branched systems. In addition, we create the interfaces generally required today in terms of software, mainly WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC, LoRa, Android
